Rules

  • Team Size: 3 members
  • Inter College teams are permitted.
  • Only Plastic Soft Drink Bottlesare to be used for the rocket body.
  • The water rocket must use only compressed ambient atmospheric air as its source of energy.
  • Only tap water shall be used in the rocket, and the water shall be provided by the organizers.
  • Water brought by the team shall not be allowed in the rockets.
  • No chemical or aerated water should be added for launching.
  • The amount of water to be filled in the rocket body is left to the choice of the team.
  • The pressure inside the container (rocket body) before launch should not exceed 40 psi.
  • No component or body part of the rocket should get detached from the main frame during the flight of the rocket.
    If any part gets detached, then the launch distance won’t be considered.
  • Splicing (cutting of the base bottle or pressure container), boosters and multistage rockets are not allowed.
  • The competition will be held in two rounds. In both the rounds, the angle at which the rocket is launched, the amount of water to be filled in the rocket body and the pressure inside the rocket is up to the decision of the team, provided the pressure does not exceed 40 psi.
  • Participants are requested to be present in the venue half an hour before the event starts.
  • Winners will be announced by the end of the day during the valedictory ceremony.
  • Judges’ decision will be final and binding.
