Mechanical Department

The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1998. The Department offers 4 year B.E Degree course in Mechanical Engineering and 2 year Master Degree programmes in CAD/CAM and Engineering Design.

Due to infrastructure, facilities and faculty, the department has secured Anna University Permanent affiliation in the year 2005 – 2006. Dedicated and experienced faculty, 5 of them with PhD Degrees and 27 others with M.E/ M.Tech Degrees, drawn from industries and reputed academic institutions form the backbone of the department. The department has 19 laboratories created with futuristic vision. The department is also a recognized research centre for offering PhD programmes under Anna University. The students of the department are well molded for the industrial environment by making industrial visits mandatory and by encouraging them to undergo industrial training. The department has received grants from AICTE for research and development activities.
