Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering


Our KIT seeks to create not just engineers, but individuals with a well rounded personality. Electrical and electronics engineering department faculty members have years of professional  experience combined with an enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring to meet our students demands and rewards of a super professional career, in his/her chosen field. The department is committed to equip its students with analytical skills, making them resourceful and inculcating leadership. Students of the department of Electrical and Electronics engineering have made ample use of the opportunities made available to them for extra curricula activities. The department has developed extensive research facilities and infrastructure to support the teaching and research activities. The research labs are fully equipped, with state of the art precision defined instruments which are made available to the students to foster their plans for their research.
Department is run by well experienced faculty members. Well equipped labs help students to get the best hands on experience to augment their theoretical knowledge.

  • The department has strong collaboration with industries and has signed MoU with industries like , Purple Leap,Interlogix for training and development.
  • To provide opportunities top gain practical experience in various technologies by conducting Workshops, Seminars, Conferences.
  • Excel in all aspects of academic research and produce a high quality science based professionals and enhance their  general skills in logical and analytical understanding.
  • To instill within the students the technical, communications and character skills that will prepare them not just for technical roles but for leadership roles as well.

  • Chronicles          

  • The EEE department activities started with the inauguration of IEEE student chapter on 18thapril 2009 by Dr. P.SureshChander Pal and Prof.MiniShajiThomas.Our students have participated and won many prizes in many IEEE competitions especially the IEEE XTREME (a programming contest in 2010 and 2011).
    IETE students forum was inaugurated on 17.03.2009 by Dr.T.Padmanaban,Chairman,IETE Coimbatore chapter.About 75 students are active members.

  • The AICTE sponsored staff development Program was conducted from 31.05.2009 to 13.06.2009 on the topic Future Electrical Energy Requirements And Energy Managemet. The program was inaugurated by Dr.MurugesaBoopathi (Vice chancellor TamilNaduAgricukturalUniversity ).About 25 teachers participated from  different institutions in the state.

  • The EEE Association was inaugurated on 09.09.2009 by Mr.Visweswaran&Mr.Karun Jain from National Instruments,Banglore.

  • Following the inauguration of EEE Association ,students planted trees in and around the college and the program was named as Green Shadow. This function highlighted the concept of ‘Green Shadow.

  • The association was inaugurated by Dr.B.Hariram, R&D Technical Lead MOOG India Pvt Ltd. For the year 2012 on 24.07.2010 and the association was named as Eminent Engineers Embassy.

  • The EEE association has organized the following events:

  • Mr.Prabu(Aris Cad Technologies) conducted SCADA program on 30.09.2010. The same person conducted another lecture session in PLC on 21.10.2010.

  • Mr.Sairam from Vivid Automations conducted a lecture session on embedded systems on 14.10.2010.

  • Mr.Karthick Sharma from Penta School of Animation conducted a seminar on Flash Designing on 04.11.2012.

  • Anna University of Technology , Coimbatore sponsored Faculty Development Program was conducte from 23.12.2012 to 30.12.2010 on the topic Power  System And Stability. The program was concluded by Dr.K..Karunakaran(vice Chancellor, Anna University of Technology,Coimbatore).

  • Another Faculty Development Program on the topic Embedded Systems was organized by the department from 07.05.2011 to 08.05.2011. Our department faculties and other college faculties participated.

  • An one day workshop on MATLAB was given to the students on the topic System Simulation Using MATLAB  R2012B on 02.02.2011. The program was inaugurated by march 18th,2011 and students from various colleges have participated.

  • About five industrial visits has been organized from the department. Students have visited companies like:
    1.SUZLON (Windmill manufacturers),Sulur.
    2.TNEB Substation, Peedampalli.
    3.CIPET(Plastic manufactures),Mysore.
    4.KEL(kerala Electricals Ltd),Cochin.
    5.ChipTechnologies,Cochin.

  • An outbound training was given to the students of final year EEE for the 2 days at National Adventure And Leadership School,Ooty.

  • The academic year 2011 -2012 association started with :

  • A three day program on ‘National Franchisee Training’ was conducted from 09.05.2011 to 11.05.2011 which was sponsored by Rural Electrification Corporation and it was conducted by TNEB.

  • A four day program on ‘Industrial Automation On Plc Programming’ was conducted from 14.07.2011 to 17.07.2011 by Nest Advanced Training Institute,Erode and inaugurated by the principal Dr.R.K.Suresh.

  • Our students have engaged them in other social activities like organizing Blood Donation Camps and Association.

  • The upcoming events for the academic year are:
    We are Planning to organize two days workshops, a national level technical Symposium, and one International level Conference.

  • The current academic year 2012 -2013 association started with :
    The association was inaugurated by Er.Vijaya Kumar, GE Energy Chennai. For the year 2012-13 on 28.07.2012.

  • A one day guest lecture on the topic SCADA &FPGA  byJ.Aravindan ,LOGIT Coimbatore on 03.08.2012.

  • A one day workshop on PCB design provided by RAANA Power Solution, Bangalore on 13.08.2012.
