SAE INDIA SKCET Collegiate Club
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a prestigious international body has established its collegiate club "The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Collegiate Club" in our College in the year 1998.Efforts and Enthusiasm of SAE Student members have resulted in the advancement and growth of SAE in "Sri Krishna". Communication dated 28.8.2002 from SAE office, WARRENDALE, USA acknowledges that time and efforts of the student members have invested in making SAE a success in "Sri Krishna" and hence elevated to SAE Collegiate Branch Status from SAE Collegiate Club.
Our club is one of the very active club in the southern region of SAE INDIA. The various technical events were conducted every year for the benefits of SAE members of many institutions in India. Currently we have more than 600 student members and 3 faculty advisors in our SAE club in this academic year.
During the last year our Musketeers SAE team comprising of 25 SAE club members has been placed at 17th position in the national level competition “SAE INDIA BAJA 2012” event amongst 100 teams from premier Institutions like IIT’s, NIT’s etc. across India, for their design and fabrication of an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV).
This year Gepard Racing SAE team comprising of 25 SAE club members has won 2nd place in the national level competition “SAE INDIA SUPRA 2012” event among 65 teams, for their design and fabrication of Formula three type Race Car.
The College
The college was started in 1998, with 180 students, 18 staff and 4 branches of B,E.. In a short time span it has grown in size and stature and has present more than 2515 students are studying in 6 branches of B.E., B.Tech., M.E., MCA, M.Sc (Software Engineering), M.Sc (Computer Technology), MBA, B.Sc. Information Technology and B.Sc Computer Technology. To meet the rise in the student's strength, the faculty strength has also risen to 175. There is a good team of supporting staff to assist the departmental work. The college has already carved a niche amongst the public, AICTE, DOTE and the university.
Location
Situated at Sugunapuram in Kuniamuthur. The campus is 1 km off the NH 47 connecting Coimbatore and Palakkad and 3 km's off the NH 209 connecting Coimbatore and Pollachi. 8 Km's from the Coimbatore Railway Station 12 Kms from the Central Bus Station, Gandhipuram 18 Km's from the Airport And well connected by city buses and mini-buses
